HistoryĪrtlist was founded in Israel in 2016 by Ira Belsky, Itzik Elbaz, Eyal Raz and Assaf Ayalon as a royalty-free music site called Artlist.io that originally targeted independent filmmakers looking to license music cheaply. But if I only needed music, I'd probably use Artlist again.Artlist is an Israel-based creative technology company that specializes in royalty-free digital content, and is the owner of several video and image editing platforms. All that combined makes it worth it for me. I can't say for sure it's the same with all their categories, but that's the vibe I get overall.īut with all that being said, having everything in once place is super useful, their pricing is great, and the licensing is simple and easy. Their search tools were much more robust and the quality of the music was really great - it never took me long to find something I liked.īut with MA it's harder to search and it takes me longer to find the 'perfect' song. The main comparison I have is with Artlist, which was awesome and I really loved. The variety in each category isn't as good as I expected, and overall I haven't been as impressed with the assets. Basically everything you could need.īut the downside is that in my experience its quantity over quality. They have everything - music, SFX, stock footage, images, software templates, presets, etc. The reason I started using it is for the Variety per $. For context, the only other similar service I've used is Artlist. I use it currently - and I'd say that while it is good overall, it isn't incredible.
